About the Authors
Robert Alan Yoho, M.D., has been practicing cosmetic surgery in Pasadena, California since 1991, and since 1993 has limited his practice exclusively to cosmetic surgery.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Yoho attended Oberlin College, then Case Western Reserve University Medical School in Cleveland, Ohio. His residency training included internal medicine and dermatology, then emergency medicine, in which he completed training and is board certified. He is the only physician in the U.S. to have completed boards in both emergency medicine and also in dermatologic cosmetic surgery. He is an assistant professor at Drew-King Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he instructs residents in cosmetic surgery techniques. He is the author of more than 20 scientific articles about cosmetic surgery and has lectured before international audiences about his techniques. In 2005, more than 95 percent of his patients were referred by other patients. Additionally, over 10 percent of his practice came from out of state. He is among the most experienced liposuction surgeons in the U.S.
Dr. Yoho has had four different cosmetic procedures himself: two liposuctions, a deep TCA peel for acne scarring, and small cheek implants. He spends his leisure time with his children and enjoys yoga, rock climbing, and triathlons.
Judy Brandy-Yoho, R.N., was raised in Trinidad and Tobago. She graduated from the prestigious Mack School of Nursing in Ontario, Canada, and was recruited by a major Los Angeles hospital. There she worked in pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, day surgery and the emergency department in both staff and administrative positions. After 12 years as a hospital registered nurse, Judy joined Dr. Yoho's staff. Judy and Dr. Yoho have three children.
