- Before After
This lady received something of a facelift from her laser resurfacing. Although no skin was cut, the skin dramatically shrank because of the laser effects. This was done with an Ultra Pulse CO2 Laser, which takes the top layer of the skin off and shrinks the skin. Notice particularly that her lower eyelid bags are gone. This is partly because of the skin shrinkage from the Ultra Pulse Laser, and partly because the fat was removed from the inside of the lower lid with a laser cut.
Laser blepharoplasty is probably safer than blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery with a knife. The reason it is safer is that the laser seals little blood vessels, which can cause bruising and bleeding around the eye. This bruising and bleeding can be a real nuisance or it could even cause problems up to blindness, although this is exceedingly uncommon.
This lady certainly is wearing makeup in her after pictures, although she is wearing a bit of lipstick in her before pictures. Do not underestimate the potential from makeup to improve facial photographs and the look after surgery as opposed to before. This lady was from LaCanada in the Pasadena/Los Angeles area and had her procedure performed in our Pasadena Surgical Center.
